PHOTOGRAPHY

I love documenting life through the lens. From a my teenage years running around with a cheap point and shoot film camera, to bulking out my collection of medium format film and mirrorless digital cameras and lenses, photography is a lifelong passion. Whether it’s shooting landscapes, hiking out into the wilderness for sunrise, documenting everyday life in towns and cities, or photographing events and live music performances, I enjoy photographing a wide range of subjects.

I am completely self-taught as a photographer, with several key influences from the worlds of landscape, street and music photography. I am drawn to abstract compositions and dramatic lighting that complements the subject and the story I am trying to tell in an image.

Outside of self-published zines, my work is not widely distributed. I am open to commission and always interested in collaborating with people on interesting projects. Whether you need a photographer to shoot your next campaign, or document a gig, or anything else for that matter, please get in touch if you’d like to work with me.

PORTFOLIO

MUSIC

Self-taught as a songwriter and musician, my catalogue of songs began to take shape in the mid 2000s when bought my first guitars from a music shop in Chester city centre. Many of the songs that would later appear on my first two albums began to take shape then.

Drawing on inspiration from my particular love of the rock, blues, jazz and folk music of the 1960s and 1970s, my early songs already had a highly experimental bent to them. I continue to write and record my own original songs and share them on the internet. I find songwriting a valuable ally in my journey of self-exploration and expression. If you relate to any of my music please feel free to share your thoughts and feedback.

ART

I find painting to be an effective way to relax and sort through thoughts and ideas. The freedom of a blank page and a palette of paint to play with, to me, is an open playground to explore ideas. I am heavily influenced by the surreal and expressionist movement, popularised by painters like Salvador Dalí, René Magritte and Joan Miró amongst others.

My work is not widely publicised but I have sold a few original pieces and it fills me with delight to know that my paintings are hanging on people’s walls somewhere. If you are interested in acquiring one of my originals head over to my shop where I have all the currently available paintings listed.
